The 150sq.m. apartment in situated in an old residential complex, part of a neighborhood of old listed buildings in the center of Athens . Because of its location opposite the Greek Parliament building the client wanted a vintage yet modern design. She liked the French style decor and gypsum wall decoration that was commonly used in the buildings of this area.
The house was redesigned for a family of four. The apartment’s interior walls were demolished and the only old feature that remained after the renovation was the oak floor.
One enters to the apartment through a small hall that separates the living areas from the private ones. We hid the doors that lead to the sleeping areas of the house by integrating them in the wall’s decoration. By doing that we direct the visitor to the open plan living area. The kitchen, the fireplace and almost all the furniture are custom-made.
All the bedrooms have their own private bathroom. The bathrooms have large marble type tiles, custom-built bathroom countertops/sinks and golden faucets.
